Topband (25Ah Cells) 4S 5P Busbars and Hardware
Building a 4S5P battery pack with 25Ah Topband cells requires quality busbars and hardware for a safe, high-capacity setup. In a 4S5P configuration:
- 4S (Series) connects four cells to increase voltage, providing a nominal pack voltage around 12.8V to 14.6V, depending on the specific chemistry of Topband cells.
- 5P (Parallel) connects five series strings in parallel, yielding a total capacity of 125Ah, which is excellent for applications needing substantial energy output and extended runtime.

Busbars are key for efficient current distribution. Copper is ideal for its low resistance; a thickness of 2–3mm and width of 10–15mm ensures they handle the pack’s high current demands safely. Carefully position busbars between cells, keeping the distances short to reduce resistance and avoid heat buildup, enhancing overall efficiency.
Hardware considerations include stainless steel bolts and nuts for durability, as well as flat and spring washers to secure connections and resist loosening from vibration. Insulators between busbars and cells are essential to prevent accidental short circuits, boosting safety.
After assembly, torque all connections consistently and check voltage across the pack. A Battery Management System (BMS) is crucial for monitoring cell voltage, temperature, and balance. This BMS will prevent overcharging, overheating, and imbalances, which extends the life of the pack. This 4S5P Topband setup is reliable and well-suited for high-capacity, high-demand applications requiring stable, long-lasting power.
